About cookies

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website stores in your browser. They can keep a requested feature working, remember a choice or track activity. Similar storage technologies can serve the same purposes.

This policy covers the CYE – Craft Your Event website. Our contact details are shown below, and our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

Browsing and enquiries

The CYE enquiry forms do not add advertising or analytics cookies. Optional analytics, marketing and embedded media are controlled separately through the cookie preferences described below. The enquiry form keeps your in-progress brief in the open page rather than using local storage or a tracking cookie. Security checks and abuse-prevention counters operate on the server.

Submitting an enquiry saves the details in our private inbox and triggers email delivery. Those records are not browser cookies; they are explained in the Privacy Policy. Resend is used for email delivery, not as an advertising script on our pages.

Our theme serves its fonts locally. Following a social media or other external link takes you to another service, whose own cookie choices and policy then apply.

WordPress features

WordPress may set cookies when you use features beyond normal public browsing. These are not all placed on every visitor’s device. Names below can contain an installation-specific suffix.

  • Signing in: wordpress_test_cookie checks whether cookies work. wordpress_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash] and wordpress_logged_in_[hash] support authentication. A normal login ends with the browser session and has a limited authentication period; choosing Remember me can extend it to two weeks.
  • Account preferences: wp-settings-* cookies remember administration preferences, normally for up to one year. wp_lang remembers a selected login language for the session.
  • Password-protected content: wp-postpass_[hash] remembers access after a password is entered, normally for ten days.
  • Comment convenience: where comments and their opt-in choice are enabled, comment_author_*, comment_author_email_* and comment_author_url_* can remember the details you choose to save for future comments, normally for 347 days.

The periods above describe standard WordPress behaviour. Your browser can show the cookies actually stored and their expiry dates. Signing out or deleting cookies can end a saved session sooner.

Optional cookies and your choices

Cookies strictly needed to provide a feature you request can operate without an optional tracking choice. Optional tracking requires a prior, informed choice; simply continuing to browse is not treated as agreement.

Our cookie banner lets you accept optional categories, reject them or customise your choice. Optional categories start switched off. You can return to Cookie Settings in the footer to change or withdraw permission at any time. The current services and preference-storage details are listed below.

If a comment form offers to save your name, email and website, leave that choice unticked if you do not want its convenience cookies. You can remove a previously saved choice by deleting those cookies in your browser.

Managing your browser

Your browser’s privacy or site-data settings let you inspect cookies, delete them and block future storage. You can remove data for this website without clearing every website’s cookies.

Blocking essential cookies can stop login, password-protected content or saved preferences from working. Deleting browser cookies does not delete an enquiry already submitted to CYE. Contact us about information held in our systems.
